Last drunken wiki. I won't erase this one. Ha hahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahah
this reminds me of a song.
For once, a happy song. or maybe not.
this one by alice donut.
It is my favorite band of all time. I love them.
I can't imagine why they are not famous AND rich and celebrated. No, I'm really not kidding. Don't be fooled by the rough exterior.

I had this ball of string wrapped around a mattress tag i made one night, that wore a green headband and a cape. We called it Alice Donut after I drew eyes on it and made it a little electric guitar. It brought a total of three hours of satisfaction to me and my bored sister.
Sadly enough, during one of my moves I came across it in the bottom of a nearly empty box. I looked at it and it looked at me and I threw it away and thought well, it served its purpose and couldn't possibly be of any use to me. Well, i was wrong. If it were here tonight I'd be mildly entertained and may consider feeling nostalgic. Oh well.
Biking through Gainesville this past weekend, I noticed that a lot of old rental houses that were once epicenters for my era/community of gville punk rock (rentals with continuity: when one friend moved out another moved in), including my old space, "the mulch mansion," were gone. This was a good exercise in impermanence, and boosted my immunities against nostalgia. Of course I do also save some (a scant few) of the talismans from those times. Still, none of them have conjured memories of Alice Donut's performance (what a show!) at the Hardback Cafe circa 1990 lately, not like Jess's writing and drawing and filesharing have done this morning. Practices of commons-formation (i.e. sharing text, images, and sound) amplify attention and activate a sort of "pragmatic memory" like nothing else in this whole world.
