Audacity is a great open source software that I have been playing with. Audacity is to music that Adobe Photoshop is to photos, except it is free. Free is the magic word for many people. Free does come with a price. It may have a boat load of advertisements or viruses. I understand Chevonne's mistrust with downloadable software. I've downloaded software in the past--before I learned a lot more about computers--that corrupted my system. I trust audacity because of it's popularity and the professors recommendation. We have a healthy working relationship, with no problems--thats because I downloaded the stable edition. I may try the updated 1.3.4 (BETA) edition, once I'm confident with the stable edition. I was able to cut up some of the songs in my music library. I thought about uploading some cut song on to freesounds, but the disclaimer said to only upload sounds, not songs or copywrited sounds. Either or, I am having fun being my own DJ.

Great news; I can't wait to hear a few cuts. We'll also be interested in hearing about the process itself. After playing in Audacity, will you listen to podcasts differently?
