Get a new career now!!!!
Step 1-Take Control!
The first step in finding a new career is to take control of your career development.
How can you accomplish this? Well, that’s simple! So, don’t delay….start stepping into your new career TODAY!
Step 2: Find your match!
Once you have taken control of your career development, the next step is to decide what type of career is right for you. There are positions available throughout the company and around the country! Here are just a few of the positions recently posted:
Step 3: Career Networking!
“Networking is the art of building alliances. It's not contacting everyone you know when you are looking for a new job and asking if they know of any job openings. Networking starts long before a job search, and you probably don't even realize you are doing it. Networking is also consistently cited as the Number 1 way to get a new job.
Step 4-Personal Self-Assessment!
When determining what career path to take, be sure to run some self-assessment tests to determine your aptitude and character for the job you want. There are a variety of different personality and aptitude tests available that can guide you in making the career choices, which best fit to you.
Step 5: Preparing Your Resume
When preparing your resume, the first thing you want to do is familiarize yourself with the key elements of a successful resume.
Keep these facts in mind when deciding on your resume’s length:
Your resume is a career marketing tool, not an autobiography. Strive to keep your resume concise and focused on your key selling points.
It is common for employers or recruiters to sort through hundreds of resumes to fill one position. Ensure your strongest selling points are immediately visible to make the first cut.
Step 6: Sell the product—YOU!!
Once your resume is prepared, it is time to prepare yourself for the interview process. Many people believe all they need to do in preparation for an interview is dress sharp, but the real preparation begins before you even set the interview date!
When being interviewed for a new position, the recruiter/manager will be trying to decide if you are the right fit for the position and the department. So, how can you convince them that you are? Make sure that you are selling the product: YOU!!
During the interview, you will want to be able to point out the skills you have to offer, but it can be very easy to become nervous during the interview process and if you have not prepared yourself, it can become very difficult to remember your name-let alone your top skill sets!
So, how can you avoid the total blank stare effect? Summarize on paper your previous experience, skill sets, and personality traits as they relate to the position you are applying for. Once you have completed your list, keep it close at hand. By the time you get to the interview, you will know your top traits and skill sets by heart and it will be easy to interject them at the right time and place during the interview.
You know all the reasons why you are the perfect candidate—make sure they know it, too!
