I downloaded AUDACITY. I've been playing around with it.
Everything appears to be in working order. I have not, however, created the most supremely satisfying measure of sound. I am working on it. I have been visiting it back and forth throughout the weekend and It is tiresome, but I can pull things around with a toolish microscopic pencil particle which seems to have an effect on the horrendous sound I am able to create. The tools will be useful when I get the sound into there. Where is the sound I wonder? I listened to Peacefeather. After that I pulled a different sound from the site. The sound I found I manipulated. It is a bad sound. Not good for working with at this juncture. There's something weird lurking in my itunes. It is that horrible sound I made. Hopefully, that's not my soul. I lost my glasses this weekend in a fit of repressed anger revolving around my current focus and obsession with regret and the inability to locate peace or happiness. Creating that sound has not helped right now, but I certainly can't blame it for trying.
Jess, I know the feeling; I've found that working with sound is always shamanic/healing but not always aesthetically pleasing. However, unhinging/disengaging from preferences has helped me tune into unexpected uses for sound--often times, the sound itself becomes secondary to other vistas that open up. Keep playing...if a session goes awry, start anew. Start with a sound or two that you do find appealing, and try subtle amplifications (versus dramatic transformations). Share the source sounds you select, so we can share mixing notes--that's where the fun is,
